Uninvited

Online Bible Study

with Lysa Terkeurst

Week One - Live Loved
Reminder: Watch this video the week of Dec 31 - Jan 6

This first week's session will of course introduce you to our study, and to Lysa as well... if you're not already familiar with her. You'll find she has a unique ability to put into words the emotions and experiences common to all of us, and even better–offer solid, biblical advice for everyday life.

Scripture of the Week

Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
~ Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV)

Discussion / Journaling Questions

We sincerely believe this six-week online study will encourage and refresh you in deep and meaningful ways as you discover fresh insights into God's love for you, and his faithfulness to you.

Take time over the next few weeks, to allow the deeply personal insights of Lysa; set against the unique background of some key places from the pages of Scripture, to minister to your heart and soul.

And let us encourage you, after watching each weeks' video teaching segment (and reading the corollary readings in the book and study guide if you've purchased those); to review the discussion/journaling questions we provide. If you're doing this study "solo", let these prompt you in your prayer time, as you journal, or simply to ponder during your study time. If you are in a group setting for this study (face-to-face with others, or via social media or online tools); you may wish to discuss these with others in your "group".

Questions to ponder, journal, or discuss with others enjoying this study with you:

  1. One of the great threats of rejection is that it tends to recall things from your past that linger and threaten to rob your joy and security. Are there things in your past that the Enemy of your soul uses to hurt you still?
  2. Compare the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:2-12) with the verses in Isaiah 61 from the Old Testament. What encouragement can you draw from both passages?
  3. How does your realization that Jesus' love for you is always constant, never faltering, failing or changing; give you encouragement to live life loved, even if others around you may reject you?
